On Christmas Eve morn
There's a glittering sight,
Presents under the tree
Left the previous night.
As the tree blinks a bright red & green,
We dump out our stockings
And ooh and aah at what we've seen:
Some gum, candy canes, our favorite cd
A watch, small stuffed animals,
The latest movie.
We rip open the gifts
And when it's all done,
Mom bakes breakfast
Our favorite - cinnamon buns!
And when we're all done
Gobbling down our treat,
Dad hops in the recliner
and *click* Up go his feet!
Our eyes are glued to the parade on TV
And when that is over,
We turn on the Wii.
We play and we play,
Until we must go.
We comb the last hairs,
Tie the last bow.
Off to church we must flee
To hear the preacher preach about
The Christmas Story.
We all take off running
After we sing the last hymn
All the children
Run to the gym.
Home we must head
We quick grab a snack,
Brush our teeth and go to bed.
